The Honda ProFirst Certification Program previously required the DS980J Welding Wire. Due to lack of availability of the wire, Honda re-tested and has approved a replacement wire for that requirement: Bohler Union X96 0.8mm MAG Welding Wire.
The new wire, Bohler Union X96 0.8mm is approved for high strength and ultra high strength steel welding procedures on 590-980 MPa steel parts, including:
- MAG butt welding on up to 780 MPa steel parts
- MAG plug welding on up to 980 MPa steel parts
